CAG Trainee Programs
About CDDW™ 2027
In the days preceding the CDDW™ Conference, the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) offers trainee development programs to provide valuable learning, skill-building, networking, and mentorship opportunities for trainees pursuing a career in gastroenterology.
GRIT Course
(Gastroenterology Residents-in-Training)
- Three-day program for residents enrolled in a gastroenterology subspecialty training program.
- Features educational sessions led by expert faculty, including lectures, oral and poster abstract presentations, small group sessions, interactive discussions, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities.
- Application through abstract submission.
- Accepted participants must attend the CDDW™ Conference.
Research Topics in GI Diseases Meeting
- Two-day program for graduate students, medical students, and PhD/MD postdoctoral trainees, including adult and pediatric gastroenterology trainees beyond their core training, who are engaged in gastrointestinal research.
- Provides opportunities to present research findings, participate in career development sessions, build professional skills, and network with expert faculty and peers.
- Application through abstract submission.
- Accepted participants must attend the CDDW™ Conference.
Scholars' Program
- Two-day program for exceptional internal medicine and pediatric residents (PGY1, PGY2, PGY3) interested in exploring a career in gastroenterology.
- Introduces participants to a broad range of GI topics through presentations by expert faculty, hands-on workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
- Application through Program Director nomination. Self-nomination for BIPOC applicants is available.
- Attendance at the CDDW™ Conference is optional, but encouraged.
